Enter the Guardian children's fiction prize Young Critics competition
The longlist for this year's Guardian children's fiction prize has been announced and it is full of great reads. On 18 June we'll be starting the Guardian children's fiction prize book club, focusing on one of the longlisted books each week with an interview with the author and other background information on the book. Most importantly, we want to know what YOU think about the books and have opened the Young Critics competition for all young readers to share their views on the nominated books. Anyone under 16 can enter by writing a 200-word review of one of the books longlisted for the Guardian children's fiction prize 2011. Write your review of the book of your choice from our longlist below: My Name is Mina by David Almond Mr Gum and the Secret Hideout by Andy Stanton Small Change for Stuart by Lissa Evans Twilight Robbery by Francis Hardinge Return to Ribblestrop by Andy Mulligan Moon Pie by Simon Mason My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher Momentum by Saci Lloyd Ahead of the book club starting, you can find out more about the books here: discover the children's fiction prize longlist . How to enter There are two ways to enter: 1. Enter on your own by sending your review of your chosen book to the address on the application form 2. Enter as part of a school group. If you and your class all submit reviews, the school that is judged to have made the strongest overall entry will win the opportunity to spend a day at the Guardian, where up to 30 students will have a chance to edit and print the day's news at the Education Centre, on Thursday 10 November 2011. The deadline for entries is Monday 26 September 2011 See the application form for full details of how to enter The prizes The 10 individual winners will each receive a £20 National Book Token gift card plus two sets of the eight longlisted books, one for themselves and one for their school. The winning class will visit the Guardian Education Centre and receive a set of the eight longlisted books and a National Book Token gift card worth £150.
