Scintillating scrum-half Jonny Lomax signs new contract at St Helens

St Helens have followed Wigan by securing their brightest young talent on an improved and extended contract, agreeing an extended deal with Jonny Lomax which runs until the end of 2015. The 21-year-old was Super League's young player of the year for 2011 after making the switch to scrum-half in Saints' run to a fifth consecutive Grand Final appearance. He has already been identified by the England coach, Steve McNamara, as a key figure in his plans for the 2013 World Cup alongside Sam Tomkins, the Wigan full-back who signed a five-year deal two weeks ago.
