St Helens' Leon Pryce and Stuart Fielden of Wigan return to the fray
Leon Pryce and Stuart Fielden, who were team-mates for so long with Bradford and Great Britain, return from lengthy injury absences in Friday's Super League programme. They have each been restricted to a single appearance this season – Pryce lasting only minutes for St Helens against the Catalan Dragons in Perpignan in March before suffering a groin injury, and Fielden breaking down on his return from knee problems for Wigan at Bradford in February. Now they hope to prove their fitness ahead of the Challenge Cup quarter-finals next weekend. Pryce will again face the Catalan team, who he is expected to join next season and who are aiming to climb above Saints and Huddersfield to third in the Super League table after a run of six wins in their past seven matches. But they are missing their Australian scrum-half Scott Dureau, who damaged a knee in Sunday's 38-18 victory over Leeds. Fielden's return should be less intense as Wigan have home advantage against a Wakefield team who have conceded 208 points in four consecutive defeats. Wigan have confirmed the Australian second-row Ryan Hoffman will return to Melbourne Storm after a single season in England. Craig Gower, the former Australia international who has been playing rugby union for Italy, has been targeted as a possible high-profile signing to mark the relaunch of London's Super League club next season. Gus Mackay, the Harlequins chief executive, revealed last month that the club will be known under a new name next year – with a reversion to London Broncos the favourite – and has confirmed they are seeking a number of major recruits to boost a squad that has failed to challenge for the play-offs for the past three seasons. Gower is thought to be keen to return to league after being ruled out of the rugby union World Cup later this year because of a knee injury. Salford City Reds will have the MediaCityUK logo on the front of their shirts next season under a new sponsorship deal that has been described by their chief executive, Dave Tarry, as "a major coup, not only for Salford but for the whole of rugby league". The MediaCityUK development, which includes the new BBC North development as well as the Coronation Street studios, is owned by the Peel Group, the company which developed the Trafford Centre and now the £26m City of Salford Community Stadium where the Reds will play from next year.
