England call up Tim Bresnan as India lose Gautam Gambhir
England have been given a boost before the second Test at Trent Bridge with the news that Gautam Gambhir has been ruled out following the injury to his elbow he received at Lord's. However, England are suffering injury worries of their own and have called up Tim Bresnan to replace Chris Tremlett. India's batsman Gambhir will be replaced by Yuvraj Singh, while Rahul Dravid will move to the top of the order to open the batting. The fast bowler Zaheer Khan, who was off the pitch for much of the first Test with a hamstring problem, has been replaced by Shantha Sreesanth. Bresnan has replaced Tremlett, who has also failed to recover from a hamstring injury and suffered a back spasm in a net session on Thursday evening. England had also called up Steven Finn as cover, but the Middlesex pace bowler was not needed.
