Jason Manford rocks fewer than 3m

WHO'S A NAUGHTY BOY THEN? Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford: ITV1, 9pm – The comedian returned with his first presenting role since his embarrassing departure from The One Show. A six-parter billed as "topical standup recorded near to transmission", Comedy Rocks picked up an underwhelming 2.888 million viewers and a 12% audience share. Another 82,000 (0.4%) watched on ITV1 +1. Last Friday in the same slot, Penn & Teller: Fool Us pulled in 4.09 million (16.3%) . BBC1's Hustle comfortably won the 9pm hour, averaging 5.917 million (24.7%). WHERE THERE'S A WILL... Can't Take It with You: BBC2, 9pm – Former Granada boss Gerry Robinson turns his hand to trying to sort out family arguments over wills, with the first episode of this six-parter attracting 1.734 million viewers and a 7.2% share. Competition included Channel 4's Heston's Fishy Feast (1.8 million/7.5%, C4+1 324,000/1.6%) and a Channel 5 repeat of The Mentalist (1.162 million/4.8%). COMEDY OFF THE CUFF Fast and Loose: BBC2, 10pm – The new improv comedy show hosted by Hugh Dennis opened with 1.325 million viewers and a 6.2% share. Competition at 10pm included Channel 4's Shameless (2.245 million/11.6%, C4 +1 317,000/2.6%), Channel 5's CSI repeat (723,000/3.6%) and the news bulletins on BBC1 (4.8 million/22.5%) and ITV1 (1.8 million/8.6%, ITV1+1 about 100,000). All ratings are Barb overnight figures, including live and same day timeshifted (recorded) viewing, but excluding on demand, +1 or other – unless otherwise stated.
