Mark Thompson heads to Scotland for coffee mourning

Outgoing BBC director general Mark Thompson is making a farewell visit to BBC Scotland at Pacific Quay on Wednesday. Monkey hears that BBC Scotland director Ken Macquarrie has invited staff to join "Mark and myself for coffee in the 5th Floor Restaurant between 11.30am - 12.15pm. No speeches, no formality, just the opportunity for us to come together to bid Mark farewell." Last week, BBC Scotland's news and current affairs department announced that more than 30 journalists' jobs are to go under the second round of Thommo's Delivering Quality First cuts. Monkey wonders how many hacks will turn up to give their fond farewells and will the atmosphere be more frappuccino than cappuccino?
