The Olympics closing concert is apparently Blur 's last one before dissolving into a couple of musicians, a cheesemaker, a wannabe politician and an occasional Phil Daniels. Before then, there are four "intimate" – ie small for them – warm-up gigs (1 Aug, Winter Gardens, Margate; 5 & 6 Aug, Civic Hall, Wolverhampton; 7 Aug, Plymouth Pavilions) … Missing the lucky dip thrills of the Olympics tickets ballot? Fear not: London's iTunes Festival returns, taking in – ooh – Jack White, Usher, and – oh – Norah Jones and One Direction (1-30 Sep). Fill in a form, maybe get lucky … Blissfields has assembled some choice attractions (Toddla T, Clock Opera, real ale). Synth-indie tykes Bastille are new to the bill, as is a school sports day theme (29 Jun-1 Jul, Vicarage Farm, Winchester) … Speech Debelle, Anchorsong and Ghostpoet will christen the new Sound Castle venue in Hay-on-Wye next month (1-9 Jun) … Finally, Wilderness Festival is hooking up with Future Cinema. Bugsy Malone will be accompanied – yes! – by an enormous, live splurge gunfight (10-12 Aug, Cornbury Park, Charlbury).
