Show and Tell: Laurie Anderson

I have a lot of meetings at the local chocolate shop. Even in summer the hot chocolate spiced with chilli peppers is amazing. They’re still trying to sell some leftover Easter bunnies Photograph: Laurie Anderson Lou Reed and Lola walking to breakfast in the West Village. We always go to the same place these days because they make the best coffee and Lola can sit outside Photograph: Laurie Anderson I saw this Jeep parked in the garage and even though I almost never have car lust I fell in love with this one - the colour, the cartoon shape Photograph: Laurie Anderson I take notes on a blackboard for projects. It’s more fun than working on a computer. Scribbling keeps things loose. Then I take pictures with my iPhone. So the scribbles end up as digital files anyway Photograph: Laurie Anderson Lou and I were king and queen of the Mermaid Parade, an annual event in Coney Island. We led a parade of 500,000 people – mostly in drag and dressed as merpeople – into the ocean Photograph: Laurie Anderson I wore a tiara made for me by the French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel, who designed the Palais Royal subway station in Paris Photograph: Laurie Anderson A portrait of my fellow photographers Photograph: Laurie Anderson
