Channel 4's Dispatches hires deputy editor of Panorama
Channel 4 has raided BBC News once again, hiring the deputy editor of Panorama to edit current affairs documentary strand Dispatches. Daniel Pearl will report to Dorothy Byrne, Channel 4 head of news and current affair. Pearl is a former deputy editor of Newsnight and the BBC1 10pm news and in 2010 edited the BBC's prime ministerial election debate. Last year Channel 4 News hired Newsnight's political editor, Michael Crick, and correspondent Jackie Long, and BBC World News America presenter Matt Frei.
