Lauren St John wins Blue Peter Book of the Year award

Great news for Lauren St John fans! She's won the Blue Peter Book of the Year for Dead Man's Cove, the first in a mystery series featuring amateur sleuth Laura Marlin. You may have come across Lauren St John for her White Giraffe series of animal books set in Africa, but she's taken a different turn with Laura Marlin. She's an 11-year-old who has been sent from a children's home to live with her uncle in Cornwall and solves mysteries in best Enid Blyton fashion. Marcus Sedgwick and Pete Williamson won the Blue Peter Most Fun Story with Pictures prize for Lunatics and Luck, the third book in the gothic horror series The Raven Mysteries. Mitchell Symons won the Best Book with Facts award for Do Igloos Have Loos. Have you read any of these prize-winning books?
