Marathon Age 37 Born Davenham, Cheshire Honours 2002 Commonwealth 5,000m champion; 2002 European 1,000m gold medallist; 2005 world marathon champion; marathon world record (2:15:25) " I have not had the chance to go out there and do myself justice in an Olympic marathon yet. I have not been able to get to an Olympic marathon injury-free yet. Hopefully all this rest will help me have that chance now. I want that chance to stand on the line, having had perfect preparations, to go out there and just do what I enjoy doing best, which is competing when fully fit and in shape."
