Miami Heat reassert order with big victory over New York Knicks

After two weeks of Linsanity , Miami Heat handed out a basketball lesson to the New York Knicks with a 102-88 victory, their eighth consecutive victory by 12 points or more. New York sensation Jeremy Lin was closed down by the Heat to score just eight points and three assists, while also giving up eight turnovers, easily the least-impressive night of his short - but spectacular - NBA career . Miami's "big three" scored heavily, with Chris Bosh leading the Heat in scoring with 25. Dwyane Wade scored 22 and LeBron James 20. The Heat go to the All-Star break with the NBA's best record, 27-7. Miami now have their best season midpoint winning percentage in franchise history. Miami countered Lin with a tactic of running streams of defenders at him. Miami's defense put him under pressure throughout and stopped the pick-and-roll game that has been so effective for New York in their nine wins in 11 games. The point guard went 1 for 11 from the field, and his figures were a far cry from the 24 points and 9 assists he had been averaging over his first 11 games in the Knicks' rotation, when he breathed life into the struggling team.
