Andy Murray to partner Laura Robson in Olympics mixed doubles for GB

Andy Murray will resume his Hopman Cup partnership with Laura Robson in the Olympic mixed doubles after the International Tennis Federation awarded them a place on Tuesday in the 16-team event. The Britons played together in Perth in 2011 and enjoyed the experience. Both have won their singles here, Murray, a victor over Stanislas Wawrinka under the roof on the first day, before moving into the third round against Marcos Baghdatis on Tuesday with a straight-sets win over Jarrko Nieminen – again with the roof on. Robson, who looked brilliant then not so convincing beating the Czech left-hander Lucie Safarova in two sets on Monday, was due to play the third seed Maria Sharapova in the second round on Centre Court later on Tuesday. Heather Watson's match, outdoors on Court One, against the 14th seed Maria Kirilenko, of Russia, was stalled in the queue as light rain continued to bathe Wimbledon. By mid-afternoon, Centre Court was the only place accommodating Olympic patrons.
