Embarrassing Bodies in peak shape with 3.5m viewers
EMBARRASSING BODIES, NOT SUCH EMBARRASSING OVERNIGHTS Embarrassing Bodies: Channel 4, 9pm – The body problem documentary series that is best watched without a takeaway on your lap – returned for its fourth series with 3.479 million viewers, a 14.5% share, with another 588,000 viewers on Channel 4+1. It gave Channel 4 a peak-time win over ITV1's Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford, which picked up 2.404 million viewers (10%) with another 110,000 on ITV1 HD, a total of 2.514 million. The slot was won by BBC1's Hustle, which drew 5.744 million viewers, a 23.9% share, between 9pm and 10pm. Hustle was BBC1's second most popular show of the night, beaten only by EastEnders, at 8pm, with 8.779 million viewers (36.3%). Embarrassing Bodies was 228% up on Channel 4's average share in the slot over the past three months. It was the first of two returning Channel 4 shows: The Million Pound Drop Live was back at 10pm with 2.290 million viewers (12.5%) with another 200,000 on Channel 4 +1. OLDIE BUT A GOODIE Antiques Road Trip: BBC2, 5.15pm - The teatime antiques show was BBC2's most popular show of the day, with 2.595 million viewers, a 15.6% share. Much more of this and it'll get pinched by BBC1. The antiques series even had the better of Channel 4's ratings behemoth Come Dine With Me, which drew 2.133 million viewers, a 14.7% share, between 5pm and 5.30pm, with another 255,000 on Channel 4 +1. SLIGHTLY SMALLER TRUCKLOAD OF VIEWERS THAN LAST WEEK Ice Road Truckers: Channel 5, 8pm - The transport docusoap once again drove off with the network's ratings crown with 1.274 million viewers, a 5.2% share, eclipsing Neighbours to be the broadcaster's most popular show of the day. But it was down on the 1.507 million who saw the first of the 12-part fourth series last week . Ice Road Truckers was once again no match for BBC2's Mastermind, which pulled in 2.485 million viewers, a 10.3% share, between 8pm and 8.30pm. Masterful stuff.
