The Turn of the Screw live from Glyndebourne - discussion

On Sunday 21 August the Guardian and Glyndebourne teamed up to live-stream Turn of the Screw, in Jonathan Kent's masterly production of Benjamin's Britten's chilling opera. Opera on-demand If you missed Sunday night's live event, the entire opera will be available to watch on theguardian.com/glyndebourne from midday on Monday 22 August until 9am on 12 September 2012. During the interval and after the opera's close, our writers and critics Tom Service , Tim Ashley and Nicholas Wroe were live online to chat about the production. The comments thread will remain open for the duration of the availability of the video on demand. Tell us what you think Is the production scary enough? Are the ghosts too real? Or perhaps not real enough? And what of Miah Persson's governess – how is her interpretation of an ambiguous role shaping your understanding? And the children? Are they evil, as Joanna Songi (singing Flora) suggests here ? or tragic victims of the governess's hysteria? What about Britten's music itself? If you're new to the opera, listen to Tom Service's audio guide to the work. Whether you are a seasoned opera-goer or newbie, tell us what you think of the experience of watching the performance online.
