Norwich set to confirm appointment of Chris Hughton as new manager
Norwich City have scheduled a press conference for Thursday afternoon to announce the appointment of Chris Hughton as their new manager. Birmingham City "reluctantly" granted permission for the 53-year-old to speak to Norwich officials on Wednesday and agreement has been reached swiftly on Hughton replacing Paul Lambert as manager. Norwich and Birmingham have agreed compensation for Hughton of £1m, plus additional payments for his backroom staff of Colin Calderwood, currently the assistant manager at St Andrew's, the first team coach Paul Trollope and the chief scout Ewan Chester. Providing the final details are ratified in time, Hughton will be unveiled as Norwich's new manager at 2.30pm.
