Glee: The 3D Concert Movie – review

Fat girls, gay guys, jocks, nerds and dudes – this one's for you, because Glee: The 3D Concert Movie, based on the Fox TV show, doesn't do exclusion. Filmed during the Glee Live! tour earlier this year, Kevin Tancharoen's "documentary" uses performance footage, backstage interviews and heartfelt testimonials from Gleeks to spread the Glee gospel, namely that there isn't a problem in the world – from bad teeth to the decline of America – that can't be solved by belting out an 80s power ballad. The set is big, cheap and nasty. The cast are as choreographed behind-the-scenes as on stage. But the fans save it. They cheer right to the end, when the cast appear dressed in T-shirts proclaiming their personal issues: "Four Eyes", "No Weave", "Can't Dance". They probably have a "Cynic" in medium size, too, right?
