Simon Moran | No 9
Live music promoter: managing director, SJM Concerts Take That 's 2009 tour was the biggest ever seen in the UK. But Simon Moran – whose offer to promote a tour was the catalyst for the group re-forming – will go one step further with the five-piece's new run of dates, starting on 27 May in Sunderland, for which a staggering 1.8m tickets have been sold. Not content with being arguably the country's leading concert promoter (SJM co-owns V festival and T in the Park , and puts on around 2,000 concerts a year), Moran also runs a management company, whose clients include the Script, and is a director of the Academy Music Group of venues. He is also a shareholder in a joint-venture label with Gary Barlow, Future Records, which has just signed the London group LBC. Things could hardly be going better: Warrington Wolves, the rugby league club he owns, won their second successive Challenge Cup last season, and Moran got to lead them out at Wembley.
