Readers' panel: Which band represents the best of British?

If there's one thing we've learned from this summer of glorious sport, it's that Britain has a proud musical heritage. The Olympic and Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies revolved around British pop, celebrating everything from punk to grime. If you were planning your own celebration of modern British music who would you pick as the headline act? We'd like you to make a case for Britain's best band today. Do you favour the choppy guitar rock of Arctic Monkeys or the operatic grandeur of Muse? Is Britain's best band one that regularly tops the charts or is it one that you feel has been commercially overlooked? Whatever your answers to these questions, we'd like to hear from you.
