Carling Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg - Arsenal v Ipswich Town in pictures

Come on you tractor boys!! Two Ipswich fans look to the heavens for hope and guidance. They must be praying that their team can keep Arsenal at bay and keep hold of their slender 1-0 lead from the first-leg Photograph: Tom Jenkins Ipswich do their best to break up Arsenal's game and Tamas Priskin adopts a "by any means" approach to stopping Arsenal's Johan Djourou Photograph: Tom Jenkins As the first half rumbles on, Arsenal manage to get back into their usual stride and put together a few nice moves but are unable to turn them into credible chances. Here Wilshere goes past Leadbitter and Delaney but his effort comes to nothing Photograph: Tom Jenkins It's no wonder then that Arsène Wenger looks a little concerned Photograph: Tom Jenkins The despair is spreading as Cesc Fábregas doesn't look to happy after his crisp low shot across goal is well saved by Martin Fulop in the Ipswich goal Photograph: Tom Jenkins On the half hour Fulop makes a very courageous save at the feet of Robin van Persie, Fébregas plays a lovely lobbed pass straight down the heart of Ipswich's defence which Van Persie races through to hit on the volley but the Ipswich keeper is out quickly to deflect the ball away from danger Photograph: Tom Jenkins It's 0-0, it's half-time, your team are 45 minutes away from Wembley, that's well worth a song in anyone's book Photograph: Tom Jenkins Just after the hour mark, Nicklas Bendtner, who is getting better the longer the game goes on, shows a deft touch as he takes the ball down on the left... Photograph: Tom Jenkins Unfortunately for the Ipswich fans, it doesn't get any better after that, as Fábregas notches another tidy finish to make it three. Denilson wins the ball well in midfield and plays it to Arshavin wide on the left. He cuts inside and the Arsenal captain darts into the space created and receives the ball before dinking it into the net Photograph: Tom Jenkins Nicklas Bendtner shows off another deft touch Photograph: Tom Jenkins The final whistle goes and Arsenal are on their way to Wembley courtesy of a 3-1 aggregate victory. Ipswich did well keeping Arsenal at bay for an hour tonight but unfortunately for the visitors, the home side's class and stamina shone through in the end. Wenger willl be hoping that he'll able to bring his six year silverware barren spell to an end on the 27 February Photograph: Tom Jenkins Emanuel Eboué seems to be inspired by the players' celebrations over in Serie A as he strips down to his pants and gives his shirt and shorts to the crowd Photograph: Tom Jenkins
