Ruby Walsh returns to Britain to ride Fistral Beach at Wetherby

Ruby Walsh will make an earlier-than-expected return to British racing when taking one ride at Wetherby on Friday. The Irishman had previously indicated that he would miss the race meeting, citing fears that he might receive another suspension under the new whip rules. The jockey has already lodged an appeal against a ban collected at Aintree last Saturday, but pending the outcome of that hearing, a second breach of the controversial new rules would see Walsh out for a minimum of a further 10 days. However he is now due to partner Fistral Beach for Paul Nicholls in Friday's Bet365 Handicap Chase and has also a confirmed booking for Poquelin in the Charlie Hall Chase at the same track 24 hours later. Poquelin's owner, Andy Stewart, said: "The Charlie Hall should be one of the highlights of the day on Saturday and hopefully it will give everyone something to talk about rather than the whip."
