Jason Lewis leaves Mail on Sunday

Jason Lewis is leaving the Mail on Sunday after 16 years to become investigations editor for the Sunday Telegraph. Lewis won specialist of the year at the 2010 British Press awards for his reporting of stories including how the new head of MI6's wife had put full details of his personal life on the internet, and how the policing body ACPO was being run as a private company. At the Mail on Sunday he held roles including chief investigative reporter and most recently Whitehall and security editor. Lewis said: "The Mail on Sunday has given me great support and enormous opportunities to pursue an incredible range of stories, but I am now looking forward to the new challenges ahead on the Sunday Telegraph." Ian MacGregor, the Sunday Telegraph's editor, added: "Jason is a fantastic reporter and his appointment underlines the Sunday Telegraph's commitment to agenda-setting stories and investigations." • To contact the MediaGuardian news desk email [email protected] or phone 020 3353 3857.
