Driving Standards Agency wants £35m computer services deal

The Driving Standards Agency has published a pre-tender, worth between £25m and £35m, for the supply of computer-based assessment services for driving theory tests. According to a notice published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 4 June, the agency wants a supplier to deliver the services to candidates taking a UK driving theory test, the Certificate of Professional Competence for professional vocational drivers, Approved Driving Instructor tests and the Safe Road User Award. The notice says that these tests are currently delivered via 164 theory test centres in UK. It adds that there are about 1.7m tests taken annually, with an estimated annual value of £30m.
