Commissioned by Barcelona city council in 1981, the Tribute is an assemblage of modernista furniture evocative of the period in which Picasso lived in Barcelona, pierced by iron bars and tied together with ropes and sheets, on some of which are written statements by Picasso. It is protected from the elements by a 4m-square glass cube standing in an 11m-square pool.
