Neil Young and Crazy Horse – Americana: album stream

With the Queen's diamond jubilee upon us, there's no more fitting way to celebrate than by being upstanding for a rendition of God Save the Queen. Only this version of the national anthem is a bit different: it's by Neil Young, guitars raging. Reunited with Crazy Horse for the first time on record since 2003's Greendale , and 16 years since Broken Arrow , his last LP with the complete lineup of Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank "Poncho" Sampedro, Young devotes most of Americana to folk classics: Oh! Susannah, Gallows Pole, This Land Is Your Land and more. "They're songs we all know from kindergarten," Young said. "But Crazy Horse has rearranged them, and they now belong to us." But he's also found room to take on Her Majesty. The album will be reviewed here on Friday before its release on Warner Bros on 5 June, but you can listen it now – so tell us what you think in the comments. Tracklisting: 1. Oh! Susannah 2.
