Guardian open weekend: mapping with Google Fusion tables
Google's Kathryn Hurley and I have just presented at the Guardian Open Weekend on data journalism and how we do it at the Guardian. See her presentation above. In fact, these are the slides from my presentation, which you can download from Prezi below: We talked a lot about Google Fusion tables. This is an online database and mapping tool, which we use all the time, here at the Datastore. You can see an example here of our use the other day in the world tobacco map , or gun ownership in England & Wales or with the Iraq Wikileaks data . Kathryn has put together this really useful tutorial in using fusion tables - give it a go yourself, and see what you can make. NEW!
