PA plans multimedia job cuts

The Press Association is planning to cut jobs from its multimedia operation, according to paidContent . Several staff are reported to be in consultation with the news agency's management on taking redundancy. A spokesperson is quoted as saying: "We are conducting an internal review of costs in order to deliver the best value to our multimedia customers and that we remain fully committed to the production of multimedia content." PA has invested heavily over the last couple of years in resources to produce video for newspaper websites. The investment was part of the reason that PA's 2007 operating profit nearly halved to £1.4m. Source: paidContent
