I'm looking for a weekend getaway

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it's up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday's paper. This week's question I'm a happily married woman in my 60s, but fear life is passing me by. My husband's hobbies – diving, cycling – often take him away at weekends. Can anyone suggest weekend activities, holidays or trips a lone woman would feel comfortable doing? I've a reasonable budget.
