Rafael van der Vaart injures hamstring as Holland draw with Switzerland
The Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp, faces an anxious wait before he finds out the extent of Rafael van der Vaart's latest injury. The Dutch midfielder hobbled off with what appeared to be a hamstring injury after 66 minutes of the friendly against Switzerland on Friday night and was replaced by PSV Eindhoven's Kevin Strootman. The Holland coach, Bert van Marwijk, did not seem too concerned when asked about Van der Vaart's injury, saying only: "It is probably not too serious but the game against Germany [on Tuesday] comes too early." The game against Switzerland finished goalless. Van der Vaart has already missed part of this season with a hamstring injury and another lengthy lay-off could hurt Spurs' chances of once again breaking into the Premier League's top four. They face Aston Villa next weekend in their first game after the international break.
