San Jose and Chivas grab big away wins at Toronto and Salt Lake

Toronto FC 0-3 San Jose Earthquakes Chris Wondolowski scored twice and Shea Salinas added another to lead San Jose to victory in Toronto. Wondolowski almost had a hat trick, but he hit the post from close range in the 87th minute. Real Salt Lake 0-1 Chivas USA Casey Townsend scored the first goal of the season for Chivas USA in a victory at Salt Lake City. Townsend met Salt Lake keeper Nick Rimando in mid-air, landing to find the ball at his feet in front of an open net in the 72nd minute. New England Revolution 1-0 Portland Timbers Saer Sene scored his first Major League goal off his first shot in the first minute of the match Saturday as the New England Revolution beat the Portland Timbers 1-0. Frenchman Sene, playing in just his second match for New England headed in the goal 28 seconds into the game off a Chris Tierney cross. Revolution failed to score in their first two games. Columbus Crew 2-0 Montreal Impact Milovan Mirosevic and Olman Vargas scored either side of halftime to give the Crew a win at home. Mirosevic scored from a penalty in the 30th minute after Montreal defender Felipe Martins tackled Emilio Renteria on the right side of the box. Olman found the net with a header in the 66th minute. Chicago Fire 1-0 Philadelphia Union Dominic Oduro scored with a well-placed header in the 28th minute to give the Fire a home win and condemn the Union to a third straight defeat. Vancouver Whitecaps 0-0 D.C. United Joe Cannon made three outstanding second-half saves to secure Vancouver's third consecutive shutout. The Whitecaps secured the draw when Cannon foiled Canadian star Dwayne De Rosario in the 84th minute. Seattle Sounders 2-0 Houston Dynamo As it happened New York Red Bulls 4-1 Colorado Rapids Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper scored two goals apiece as the Red Bulls turned around their poor start to the season.
