Guardian Books podcast: new literary directions, and Jon Ronson's Psychopath Test

In the fortnight when JK Rowling's new website, Pottermore , appears to have taken the possibilities of publishing in a brand new direction, we look at its implications for other writers. We test drive Faber and Touch Press's new app of TS Eliot's The Waste Land. And we talk to QI's John Mitchinson and the novelist Tibor Fischer about Unbound , a groundbreaking publishing initiative in which novels are funded by advance subscription. Mitchinson explains how it's not so far from what Dickens was doing in the 19th century, while Fischer considers what it might mean to a writer to write to order. Plus we talk to Jon Ronson about psychopaths, the psychiatric profession and how to convince the world of your sanity. Reading list The Psychopath Test , by Jon Ronson (Picador) The Waste Land by TS Eliot (Faber and Touch Press)
