Day one at Smart Healthcare Live
Today is the first day of Guardian News & Media's Smart Healthcare Live , the health informatics and innovation exhibition, at London's Excel conference centre. Guardian Healthcare Network will be here for the whole show. You can follow our coverage through the Smart Healthcare Live box on our home page , by following our Twitter feed or through the #smartuk hashtag - which you can of course use yourself. If you're at the show and you'd like to have a chat, drop us a line - [email protected] - or message us through Twitter @GdnHealthcare . Opening today is Sir John Oldham, the Department of Health's national clinical lead for Quality and Productivity. He's a champion for NHS innovation, but some of the things he thinks will have to change in the health service may make for uncomfortable listening. Later on, the show will be hearing from the head of private healthcare provider Circle, Ali Parsa, who has strong views on how healthcare could improve itself - "If healthcare was an airline, we are losing a 747 every month," he told us last month.
