The Boss Baby By Marla Frazee - review

This book is aimed more at parents rather than children, I did show the book to my two year old, but it did not appeal to him on any level. He acknowledged that there was a baby crying, but beyond that, there was nothing to engage him. I understand that the book is meant to serve as a form of parenting-guide. Yet, I don't see how it works as that either. I found it overly simplistic and patronising. I know that I should have found it funny; the exhausted parents and illustrations of spoiled baby were mildly amusing. However, the ugly baby and agenda-bashing put a stop to any enjoyment. I'm not sure that it made any sense: apparently we are stupid and spoiling our children by feeding, bathing and entertaining them. Not sure what the other option is if not to end up on the child protection register. As I closed the book I felt that I had received a lecture - and an American one at that! Never good.
