Prom – review

If you're in need of 100 minutes of irony-free entertainment, don't miss this mirthless, sentimental comedy in which the graduating pupils of a Michigan high school prepare for their senior prom. The film has every cliche known to the genre, and the kids truly believe this farewell dance will be the most memorable night of their lives, except of course for the resident malcontent (a Johnny Depp lookalike), who's converted in the final reel. It's the kind of thing that gives sincerity a bad name.
