Yaya Touré hopes Manchester City can become biggest club in the world
After his two goals against Newcastle United took Manchester City to the brink of their first league title since 1968, Yaya Touré says he next wants to help make the club "bigger than any club in the world". City will win the Premier League if they match or better Manchester United's result on Sunday but the Ivorian international has his sights set on even grander achievements. "That's why I came here, to help the team, give my experience to the young guys and to help the club go forward and make it bigger than any club in the world," he told BBC's World Focus. "But now, we are at a good step. To make history, we have to win something and follow the example of what we did last year." The midfielder says he has no regrets about swapping the club who are, arguably, currently the biggest in the world, Barcelona, for life at the Etihad Stadium "At Barcelona, I was a good player but at City I am an important player for the team," he said. "That is my job here, to try to help the team. I said a long time ago that I want to come to a club and make history and that's why I came to City." "As a footballer, you always want to go to a place where you feel like you are loved and one of the best players. But here, we have a strong team, an experienced team, and it is one of the best in the Premier League." There is, he says, no chance of City taking QPR lightly at the weekend. "We have to deliver and that is very important. The job is not done yet."
