Thom Yorke collaborates with rapper Doom

Thom Yorke may be preparing for a hip-hop crossover. According to a new interview with rapper Doom, he has been doing "preliminary shit" with the Radiohead frontman, with hopes to expand a series of duets into a full-length album. "He's cool – he got a lot of ill-ass ideas and shit, you know," Doom reportedly told 3D World magazine . "[We're] working on some duets, some duet songs and shit ... [It's] just like preliminary shit but we'll probably end up doing a whole record together." The English-born Doom – otherwise known as Daniel Dumile – is one of the US underground's top MCs, releasing a panoply of records under names including Viktor Vaughn, King Geedorah, MF Doom, and, with Danger Mouse, Danger Doom. For his last album, 2009's Born Like This, Yorke contributed a remix of the track Gazzillion Ear . But Yorke didn't do much singing on that track – outside of windy backing oohs. Instead, he mostly clipped and snipped beats, Eraser-style . Although you would expect Yorke to have his hands full with The King of Limbs , Radiohead's new album, the singer has already demonstrated his flair for multi-tasking. This week, he revealed a 12" collaboration with electronic acts Burial and Four Tet. Even before its radio premiere, this single had already sold out. Doom's second album as part of hip-hop group Madvillain, recorded with the producer Madlib, is reportedly due soon.
