Lancashire's Jimmy Anderson forced off the field with illness
Jimmy Anderson was forced off the field for the second consecutive day when bowling in Lancashire's championship match against Nottinghamshire, but because of illness rather any further problems with his bruised thumb. Anderson, who was taken to hospital for precautionary x-rays after being struck on the thumb on the first morning of the match, had just suffered the indignity of being bowled for a golden duck by his England ally Graeme Swann as Lancashire collapsed from their overnight 48 for one to 146 all out. He was the last to emerge from the dressing rooms when Lancashire took the field for Nottinghamshire's second innings, and he quickly returned after bowling a single laboured over. The official explanation was that Anderson "is feeling a bit under the weather".
