Independent editor Simon Kelner was on understandably chipper form at Tuesday night's canapés-and-champagne celebration of the 100th issue of spin-off i. Kelner – flanked by a smattering of celebs including Emily Maitliss, Richard Bacon and Dom Joly, who made the effort despite being on crutches – also quipped that when Indy managing director Andrew Mullins proposed the idea of launching a new print title last summer the joke went around that maybe he had "caught too much sun". But i had turned out to be the "highlight of a long and not very glorious career", he added.
