Arsenal's Jack Wilshere admits setback but may play again this season

Jack Wilshere's hopes of playing again this season are in the balance with Arsenal believing there is no reason he should not return before May from a fresh stress fracture injury he suffered while recovering from an operation to his right ankle. If Wilshere does return it will give Fabio Capello, the England coach, a boost ahead of the summer's European Championship. Surgery for his original fracture was successful but Wilshere broke down in training last week having suffered the new injury to the same foot. But the view at the Emirates is that the setback suffered by the 20-year-old is fairly common so there is relative calm. "I can confirm I have a stress fracture but it is not in the same area as my first injury which has healed very which I am happy about …" Wilshere tweeted. "I have developed a stress fracture in the Heal now and I don't want to put any time scale on it as I do not know how long it will take…" he added. "I will update you more in a couple of weeks when I know more!"
