Snowballs stop play and tempers rise during Club Brugge v Anderlecht

Club Brugge fans forced visiting Anderlecht players to return to the dressing room for cover after pelting them with snowballs during the early stages of today's Jupiler League match. Play was suspended after seven minutes when the Anderlecht players Jonathan Legear and Mbark Boussoufa were unable to take corners under a barrage from the home support. Temperatures later soared when Legear, who celebrated the 2-0 victory by lobbing snowballs in the direction of his own fans, had to be aided by two team-mates after he was restrained and then shoved by a Brugge steward .
