Bargain Otor
Clever packaging? Okay, it's not rocket science – it's packaging that allows goods to be placed at speed on supermarket shelves with the labelling aligned and looking pretty. DS Smith yesterday agreed to pay €247m (£206m) for Otor, a French maker of such packaging. A 10% share placing to part-fund the deal provoked a 2% share price rise. That's very unusual, suggesting the purchase is better than clever – it's cheap.
