Tintin trailer: a swashbuckling adventure or a load of Haddock?

So the "motion picture event, unlike any other", is nearly here ... with a planned UK release on 26 October, Steven Spielberg's first directing job for four years finally has a trailer. With Jamie Bell as the boy detective with the distinctive cowlick, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Thomson and Thompson, and writers Steven "Dr Who" Moffatt, Edgar "Scott Pilgrim" Wright and Joe Cornish, there's very much a British flavour to it. But the trailer – sparing and quick-cutting as it is – aims to show Spielberg in full effect, in that special place midway between live action and CGI cartoon. Will it live up to the hype?
