Transport for London seeks CCTV maintenance deal
Transport for London (TfL) has advertised for a contract worth between £800,000 and £1.5m to install and maintain CCTV equipment at bus stations and stands, Victoria Coach Station and London River Services, which operates passenger piers on the Thames between Millbank and Greenwich, as well as the Woolwich ferries. A TfL spokeswoman told GGC that the new contract will replace an existing deal, which is due to expire. "The current suppliers are IDentify and Digital Barriers," she said. An advertisement in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) says that the service will include the installation of a remote IP system to enable remote downloads. Maintenance services will include site visits and an emergency call out service, according to the OJEU notice. "The contract is just for the installation and maintenance not the equipment, that would be delivered under a separate contract," said the TfL spokeswoman. The contract will run initially for three years, but could be extended by a further two years. According to OJEU, the contract could also be used by London Underground, Tube Lines, London Rail and Crossrail, as well as the Greater London Authority and its other functional bodies, which are currently the Metropolitan Police Authority, the London Development Agency and the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority. * This article was updated on 25 May to reflect a new information notice from TfL, stating a revised range of values for the contract.
