Tour de France organisers eject motorcyclist after Nicki Sorensen falls

A motorcyclist has been thrown off the Tour de France after he collided with the SaxoBank Sunguard rider Nicki Sorensen on Wednesday's stage five. Sorensen was riding in the peloton when the motorcyclist, carrying a cameraman, attempted to accelerate ahead of the group along the side of the road. The motorcyclist then clipped and hooked Sorensen's bike, unseating the Danish national champion before dragging his bike 200m further down the road. Sorensen was given a new bike and was able to finish the stage, finishing 175th, five minutes behind the stage winner, Mark Cavendish. "I was riding safely in the side of the road as a motorbike knocked me off the bike. He was actually going so close that my bike was drawn after his motorbike for 200m. I fell heavily on the ground. Luckily, I'm fine and am able to ride again tomorrow," said Sorensen. The race organisers acted swiftly in dismissing with the motorcyclist, who is believed to have spent 15 years on the Tour.
