FTSE rally peters out

Today's FTSE rally seems, much like Monday's, to be petering out. The blue-chip index is up 10 points at 14:26 at 5,104, having been as high as 5,193 at one stage today. It may be another case of investors "selling the rallies" as JP Morgan Cazenove put it yesterday . Ahead of the US opening, Dow Jones futures are pointing to a 53 point, or 0.5%, rise.
