Trash closes

Ten years of electroclash, nu rave and messy Monday night mash-ups were brought to a close when DJ Erol Alkan called time on London's Trash club with Abba's Dancing Queen. A night that brought an indie sensibility to clubbing – or was it the other way around? – Trash started out at Plastic People and moved around before finding a home at Mr C's The End. It also played host to a new generation of live acts crossing the indie-dance divide, such as LCD Soundsystem, Klaxons and Bloc Party.
