Form guy: Hull City's Jay Simpson
An Arsenal academy product and former England U-18 striker, Simpson left London for Hull in the summer, after loan spells at Millwall, West Brom and QPR. He failed to score in his first 15 appearances, but hit four in two games last month. View from the terrace Simpson is the definition of a "confidence striker". He's not a forward who'll play with his back to goal: he wants to get in behind defenders and latch on to chances. While he was struggling to score he looked lethargic and snatched at chances, but as soon as he got one, he started to look like the sort of dynamic goalscorer we thought he would be. He did move a long way from home and came to a club in transition, but Nigel Pearson has brought the team together recently and, in Cameron Stewart, seems to have found the perfect creator for Simpson.
