Lancashire industrial estate fire leads to homes being evacuated
Around 150 firefighters have tackled a blaze on an industrial estate in Lancashire that destroyed up to five buildings. Huge flames shot into the sky at the Lancashire Enterprise Business Park in Leyland on Wednesday night, but Lancashire police said there were no injuries and the fire was now contained, although "unlikely to be out completely for two to three days at least." It is thought a building storing tissue paper caught fire and flames spread rapidly to a neighbouring building, storing chemicals. Twenty homes were evacuated but a technical team from the fire service deemed the chemicals not to be harmful.
