Ballydoyle a new Ballykissangel? Aidan O'Brien's exploits are likely to be popular coffee table reading soon. O'Brien's wife, Anne-Marie, is a noted photographer and together with sports journalist David Walsh they are producing a book entitled 'Inside Ballydoyle', scheduled for publication in October. 'David Walsh's conversations with the people of Ballydoyle reveal the passion, the commitment and the humanity of this extraordinary operation,' promises publisher Penguin Books. Regal error Sheikh Mohammed, who now famously gave an unraced yearling called Carlton House to the Queen, offered his encouragement to Her Majesty via Twitter this week, even if he got her title slightly wrong. 'A weekend of exciting racing for Godolphin, but the highlight will be if the Queen of England's "Carlton House" wins the Epsom Derby,' he tweeted. Legal aid for Fallon Kieren Fallon's private thoughts about losing the ride on Recital after a court appeal are not recorded, but his solicitor, Christopher Stewart-Moore, was admirably diplomatic when saying: 'Kieren is obviously very sorry and disappointed not to be riding but he wishes the owner of Native Khan the very best of luck and hopes that Pat Smullen has a good ride on Recital too.' No Moore Mr Nice Guy Ryan Moore had a pithy riposte to journalists' questions after winning the Coronation Cup on St Nicholas Abbey at Epsom on Friday. Moore has partnered most of Aidan O'Brien's top middle-distance horses this season as well as Sir Michael Stoute's and, after the race, Moore was asked how good he thought St Nicholas Abbey is. 'About 125,' he replied, referring to the colt's likely official rating. Right said Fred Betfred's racing sponsorship portfolio, despite including the Temple Stakes and the Haydock Sprint Cup, falls some way behind that of major rivals. So it will have come as a relief to a number of racecourses, where the Tote have major sponsorship contracts, to hear Betfred founder Fred Done promise that his takeover of the Tote will see the company become 'the biggest sponsor in racing'. He had better start putting his hand in his pocket soon, as the Tote already have well over £3m pledged in sponsorship contributions to courses between now and the end of the year, although presumably sponsorship will be included as part of the £9m-a-year figure promised to the sport.
