Wolves confirm signing of Michael Mancienne for third loan spell

Wolves have today confirmed the signing of Chelsea's Michael Mancienne on a season-long loan. The defender heads to Molineux for his third loan spell at the club, having played in the team's promotion season in 2008-09 and throughout the last campaign. Mancienne, who has three years remaining on his contract at Chelsea, will train with his new team-mates today and could make a third "debut" for the club in Saturday's home game with Newcastle. The defender has struggled to make an impact on the first team at Stamford Bridge, making only a handful of appearances, but he has played almost 100 games on loan at QPR and Wolves. He received a surprise call up to Fabio Capello's England squad in 2008, although he did not win a cap.
